Joss Whedon’s ‘Much Ado About Nothing’ Gets a Release Date
Joss Whedon’s super-low budget adaptation of Shakespeare’s Much Ado About Nothing, starring many of the Whedonverse’s finest, was acquired for distribution by Lionsgate a few months ago. After a stint on the festival circuit, it’s set to be released in cinemas on 7th June 2013 in the USA and 14th June in the UK.
A modern retelling of Shakespeare’s classic comedy about two pairs of lovers with different takes on romance and a way with words.
The cast is as follows:
Beatrice – Amy Acker
Whedon cred: Angel, Dollhouse and Cabin in the Woods.
Benedick – Alexis Denisof
Whedon cred: Buffy, Angel, Dollhouse and Avengers (in the mid-credit ‘Thanos’ scene. He’s not wearing his own face, so nobody really recognised him.)

There are more, but the character is either unlisted on the IMDb page or they aren’t main characters to the play. With a lineup like this, it’s no wonder the film festival reviews were raving.
Much Ado was filmed in black and white, in just 12 days.
