The CW’s First Look at Stephen Amell as Arrow

The CW just released the first image from Arrow, starring Stephen Amell as Oliver Queen and (Green) Arrow.

Colleen Atwood (3 time Oscar winner) designed Arrow’s suit.

Announced back in January, David Nutter, who directed the pilot for Smallville, will be directing the pilot for Arrow for the CW network.  In a newly released statement, Nutter said, “When I directed the pilot for ‘Smallville’, I knew that making Clark Kent relatable would be the key to audiences believing in him as a hero. ‘Arrow’ is a different show-darker and harder-edged-but it’s the same core idea.”

It’s written and produced by Greg Berlanti and Marc Guggenheim (Green Lantern) along with Andrew Kreisberg (Fringe/Vampire Diaries).  Paul Blackthorne (The River), David Ramsey (Blue Bloods), Katie Cassidy (Gossip Girl), Willa Holland (Straw Dogs) and Colin Salmon (Resident Evil) are also starring in the pilot, which is shooting in Vancouver.

I’m hoping that this series turns out to be good.  How bad can it be, it’s written and produced by the same two guys who did the Green Lantern movie… Just sayin’… But (Green) Arrow isn’t the only DC hero planned for a home on television.  Plans for a “Booster Gold” pilot were announced late last year with “Blue Beetle,” “Deadman” and “Spectre” series still believed to be in various stages of development.

Well the suit looks badass, what’s your thoughts?
