‘Battleship’ Super Bowl Trailer

And to round up my look at the Super Bowl movie trailers – which this year had very slim pickings, it has to be said – is Universal’s very-loosely-based-on-the-game-of-the-same-name (in fact so loosely based the only real connection is the fact it has ships in it)  Battleship.

Now when I was a kid I had the upgraded version of Battleship, the one where you had to key in the location of your ships and similarly key in where you wanted your missiles to go before hitting the fire button. It was lots of fun, especially the whistling of the missile as it flew through the air and either did nothing ‘cos it missed, or made an exploding sound and lit everything up red.

I don’t recall alien invaders though.

Battleship is released April 2012, stars Liam Neeson, Alexander Skarsgård, Taylor Kitsch (again) and Rihanna (lord help us), and is directed by Peter Berg.
