Joss Whedon’s Next Film: A Supernatural Romance

Step aside Twilight and Warm Bodies; the master is back!

While The Avengers is in post-production, Whedon’s next project has been announced. A supernatural romance called In Your Eyes. Joss is basically the father of modern monster-lovers, with the majority of humans in Buffy and Angel falling for one kind of demon or another. 

In a statement, Joss wrote:

“When I wrote In Your Eyes, I didn’t have the wherewithal (or the moxie) to make it without an established production house,”  
“I believe, as I did then, that it’s a pretty timeless romance, and now, with the creation of Bellwether Pictures (and Brin Hill’s elegant, passionate take on the piece), I have the opportunity to prove it. (I also have a 37% increase in moxie.) I love this team and I can’t wait to see them bring In Your Eyes to life.”

Not much is known about it at the moment, but Abigail Spencer will star. She had this to say:

“It’s my first time, but I’ve always wanted to work with him. I’m so excited to do it.”
“It’s the most romantic film in the history of time. It’s a supernatural romance.”

I have a feeling she may have been exaggerating on that last part. You may know Abigail from TV series’ Mad Men or Angela’s Eyes, or 2011′s Cowboys and Aliens. She also stars in the upcoming Sam Raimi prequel Oz: The Great and Powerful.
