Richard Schiff Cast as Dr Hamilton in Man of Steel

 

Richard Schiff, whose acting credentials include The West Wing, ER, Se7en and Jurassic Park II has been cast as Dr Emil Hamilton in Zack Snyder’s 2013 Superman reboot, Man of Steel.

Now in the comic-books Dr Hamilton is kind of like Superman’s scientific advisor, but he is also linked very closely with Lex Luthor, who unfortunately sent the good doctor spiralling into madness when he passed off Hamilton’s research as his own.

There is a whole load of speculation – and where would the interwebs be without that? – that Hamilton’s presence points to the involvement of Luthor in the movie. You may recall this post where I reported on a rumour that Bradley Cooper had been cast to play another villain – quite possibly the Last Son of Krypton’s seminal foe, Lex Luthor. 

Snyder, unsurprisingly, is keeping tight-lipped.
