Katee Sackhoff Lands Female Lead in Riddick III

Just when we thought it was all over for Riddick, news has come today that Katee Sackhoff – she of Battlestar Galactica fame – is in final negotiations to play the female lead opposite Vin Diesel in the third instalment of The Chronicles of Riddick.

Sackhoff’s character, Dahl, will be a hardened mercenary tracking Riddick. Not that dissimilar to Starbuck from Galactica I’m betting, but with bigger guns. And stuff. Recent reports have also stated that Karl Urban will be reprising his role as Vaako, one of Lord Marshal’s commanders.

To be honest, I can’t actually remember the last Riddick movie, but I’m sure I’ve seen it. Judi Dench was in it, right? Didn’t she turn into a cloud or something at one point? I wonder if she’ll be reprising her role?
