Rumour: Bradley Cooper Linked to Lex Luthor Role in Man of Steel
[possible spoilers - you have been warned]
An interesting rumour has sprung up concerning Zack Snyder’s The Man of Steel.
Despite having gone on record several times saying that Lex Luthor will not be making an appearance in the movie, word is circulating that Bradley Cooper (The Hangover) has been cast as another villain in the film, a part that was originally rumoured to be going to a relatively unknown actor named Adam Harris. This part, it turns out, is that of Lex Luthor and is rumoured to be just a cameo role. More than likely with the intent of introducing the character for subsequent sequels.
However, one early draft of the script has Luthor aiding Superman by forcing Jor-El, Zod and Faora through a Phantom Zone portal using Kryptonite. He then considers forcing Superman through, but changes his mind. Which to me doesn’t really sound like a cameo role at all, but something a bit more meaty. And while I’m on the subject of rumour-bashing, why would Jor-El be there anyway seeing as he’s all ready dead?
Like I said, it’s all wild conjecture and speculation at the moment, but I could actually see Bradley Cooper playing Luthor. Think John Shea from Lois & Clark: The New Adventures of Superman.
